Alice Gonzales, Oakview’s Property Manager,  attends a weekly women’s fellowship where she first became inspired to launch an effort called, “Handbags of Hope.” Her initial goal was to collect 100 quality handbags that could be distributed to women currently living in shelters along with a powerful message of hope and love. Residents at The Crossings heard about this important ministry and provided all 100 bags that were needed along with various toiletry and care items. Altogether, 154 bags have been prepared and distributed to 4 Houston area shelters so far.
